Equity Fox (“Equity Fox”, “we”, “us”) is an educational equity-research app that lets users enter a public-company ticker or company name and generate a source-backed report using public market, financial, company, analyst, news, transcript, and ETF data.
This policy explains what data Equity Fox processes, how it is used, where it is stored, and the choices you have.
Equity Fox processes the ticker symbol or company name you enter.
As you type at least two characters, the app may send the search text to Financial Modeling Prep to retrieve matching public securities. When you generate a report, the app resolves the selected input to a public security symbol.
Purpose: To identify the company, equity, fund, or ETF you want to research.
Equity Fox retrieves market and fundamental data directly from Financial Modeling Prep over HTTPS.
Requests may include the selected public ticker or company search and may ask for:
Purpose: To create the public-market research report requested by the user.
Because these requests are sent directly from your device, Financial Modeling Prep may receive standard network information associated with the requests, such as IP address, request timing, device/network metadata normally present in an HTTPS request, the requested endpoint, and the ticker or search query.
Financial Modeling Prep’s handling and retention of information received by its service is governed by its own applicable privacy policy and terms.
Depending on availability, Equity Fox may process public information including:
Purpose: To calculate transparent financial signals, populate the report interface, provide source-backed context, and prepare the AI synthesis.
This is public-company and market information. Equity Fox does not request or import the user’s private banking, brokerage, portfolio, tax, credit, income, or personal financial-account information.
Equity Fox uses Google Gemini through Firebase AI Logic to help synthesize the opening equity brief.
Before sending the research context to Gemini, the app intentionally reduces the amount of information transmitted. The AI context may include:
The app does not send the full five-year daily price-history series to Gemini for the equity-brief synthesis.
Purpose: To generate a concise headline, summary, key drivers, risks, catalyst, next marker, management takeaway, and confidence level from the supplied public-company evidence.
The AI prompt specifically instructs Gemini not to provide personalized investment advice, trading instructions, portfolio allocation, entry or exit prices, buy/sell/hold recommendations, or similar personalized financial guidance.
Gemini may generate:
Equity Fox applies additional local validation to AI output and may use a deterministic local brief instead if the AI service is unavailable or the generated output does not meet the app’s editorial and advice-safety requirements.
Purpose: To provide an educational, source-backed summary of the public-company evidence.
Equity Fox stores recent completed searches locally on your device.
A recent-search record may include:
Equity Fox keeps up to six recent searches.
Purpose: To make it easier to reopen or regenerate recently researched securities.
After a report is successfully completed, Equity Fox automatically saves a local report snapshot on your device.
A saved report may include:
Full saved reports are stored as local JSON files in the app’s Application Support storage. A lightweight local index is stored separately so the Saved Reports screen can load quickly.
There is currently no arbitrary app-defined limit on the number of saved reports. Reports remain on your device until you delete them or remove the app.
Opening a saved report does not refresh Financial Modeling Prep data and does not call Gemini again.
Purpose: To let you reopen an exact historical report snapshot without another network or AI request.
If you tap Share, Equity Fox opens the iOS share sheet with a text summary of the current report.
The shared summary may include:
Purpose: To let you send or save the report summary through a destination you choose.
Any app or service you select from the iOS share sheet has its own privacy practices.
Equity Fox may display a company logo from a public image URL supplied with market-data results. Loading that image can create a normal network request to the image host.
The app may also provide links to public company websites and news sources. Those external websites receive information according to their own privacy policies when you choose to open them.
Equity Fox uses Firebase for its AI-related infrastructure.
Production builds use Firebase App Check with Apple App Attest to help establish that protected Firebase requests originate from the authentic Equity Fox app.
App Check may process:
Firebase states that App Check does not retain attestation material itself. App Check tokens are subject to Firebase’s applicable retention rules.
Equity Fox may use Firebase Remote Config to retrieve a technical configuration value identifying a supported Gemini model.
Purpose: To configure AI functionality without collecting a user profile or financial-account information.
Equity Fox does not:
Equity Fox uses third-party services only to provide, secure, or support app functionality:
Any third party that processes user data for Equity Fox provides the same or equal protection of user data as stated in this policy and as required by Apple’s App Review Guidelines.
Equity Fox stores up to six recent searches locally on the device. The list is updated as new completed searches are added.
Deleting the app removes the app’s locally stored recent-search data from the device, subject to normal iOS backup and restore behavior.
Completed report snapshots remain locally on the device until you delete them.
You can delete individual saved reports from the Saved reports screen.
Deleting the app removes locally stored Equity Fox reports and their local index from the device, subject to normal iOS backup and restore behavior.
Search and market-data requests are sent directly to Financial Modeling Prep. Equity Fox does not control FMP’s server logs or retention practices.
Information retained by FMP is governed by FMP’s applicable privacy policy and terms.
Equity Fox uses Gemini’s generateContent functionality through Firebase AI Logic.
According to Google’s current Gemini API documentation, generateContent requests are not stored by default for developer logging unless logging is enabled for the project.
If Gemini API project logging is enabled, Google currently documents a default maximum log-retention window of 55 days, with project settings that may allow shorter 7-, 14-, or 28-day retention periods. Separate processing or logs maintained for abuse monitoring may be governed by Google’s applicable terms and policies.
Equity Fox does not control Google’s independent retention systems or policies.
Firebase states that App Check does not retain attestation material itself. App Check tokens obtained from successful attestations have a limited lifetime. Tokens used with certain replay-protection features may be retained for a limited period under Firebase’s policies.
You decide which public ticker or company to research.
If you do not enter a search or generate a report, Equity Fox does not request the corresponding market-data bundle or AI-generated equity brief.
You can stop future AI processing by not generating a new report.
Opening a locally saved report does not call Gemini.
You can delete individual report snapshots from the Saved reports screen.
You can also delete the app to remove locally stored Equity Fox data.
Equity Fox shares report text only when you deliberately tap the Share control and choose a destination through the iOS share sheet.
Information retained independently by Financial Modeling Prep, Google, Firebase, Apple, external websites, or other share destinations is governed by those providers’ respective retention and deletion policies.
Equity Fox provides general informational and educational analysis only.
It is not:
Equity Fox does not consider your investment objectives, financial situation, tax circumstances, time horizon, liquidity needs, or risk tolerance.

Equity Fox is designed to minimize collection of user-specific information.
Market-data requests use an ephemeral URL session. Saved research reports and recent searches are stored locally on the device. Firebase App Check with Apple App Attest helps protect Firebase-connected AI requests.
No method of network transmission or electronic storage can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
