Discovery Fox (“Discovery Fox”, “we”, “us”) provides a directional public-website discovery audit that helps users understand what search engines and AI readers can find, understand, trust, cite, and act on.
This policy explains what data Discovery Fox processes, how it is used, where it is stored, and the choices you have.
Discovery Fox processes the website domain you submit, such as figma.com or notion.so.
The app normalizes the domain into an HTTPS website address before beginning the audit.
Purpose: To identify the public website that you want Discovery Fox to analyze.
When you run a scan, Discovery Fox may request:
robots.txt;sitemap.xml; andDiscovery Fox uses an ephemeral network session for these requests.
Purpose: To gather enough public information to create the requested discovery-readiness audit.
The website operator may receive standard network information associated with these requests, such as IP address, request headers, user agent, and requested URLs, according to that website’s own server logs and privacy practices.
Discovery Fox may process publicly available website information including:
Discovery Fox also creates deterministic baseline scores and evidence from these public signals.
Purpose: To evaluate the website across Discovery Fox’s five discovery zones:
Discovery Fox uses Google Gemini through Firebase AI Logic to help generate the final audit.
The information sent to Gemini may include:
Discovery Fox currently sends content from up to four sampled public pages to the model.
Purpose: To generate the audit headline, outside-in interpretation, zone assessments, prioritized fixes, and uncertainty statement.
Discovery Fox does not send private website analytics, Search Console information, conversion data, account credentials, or private company databases because the app does not have access to them.
Gemini may generate or help generate:
Scores are directional public-site readiness signals. They are not search rankings, traffic forecasts, guarantees of AI citation, or guarantees of commercial outcomes.
Discovery Fox stores audit history locally on your device using on-device storage.
A saved site record may include:
Discovery Fox currently keeps up to:
Purpose: To let you reopen previous audits, mark fixes complete, rescan a website, and compare progress over time.
Saved audits remain on your device and are not uploaded to a Discovery Fox user account or cloud history service.
When you mark a recommended fix as complete or reopen it, Discovery Fox stores that status locally with the corresponding website record.
Purpose: To help you track work between scans and compare progress after rescanning.
If you tap Copy, Discovery Fox places the audit summary on the iOS clipboard.
If you tap Share, Discovery Fox opens the iOS share sheet with the audit summary.
Purpose: To let you copy, save, or share your audit through a destination you choose.
Any third-party app or service you select from the share sheet has its own privacy practices.
Discovery Fox uses Firebase App Check to help protect Firebase-connected services from unauthorized or fraudulent requests.
On supported Apple devices, App Check uses Apple App Attest. On older supported devices, it may use Apple DeviceCheck.
These services may process technical information such as:
Purpose: Security, abuse prevention, and protection of Firebase and AI service access.
Firebase states that App Check attestation material is not retained by App Check itself. Attestation material sent to Apple is subject to Apple’s applicable policies. App Check tokens are governed by Firebase’s token and retention policies.
Discovery Fox does not:
Discovery Fox uses third parties only to provide or secure app functionality:
Any third party that processes user data for Discovery Fox provides the same or equal protection of user data as stated in this policy and as required by Apple’s App Review Guidelines.
Audit history remains locally on your device until it is removed.
You can delete a website record directly from Your Sites inside Discovery Fox.
Discovery Fox also automatically limits local history to up to 10 website records and up to 12 recent scans per website.
Deleting the app removes locally stored Discovery Fox data from the device, subject to normal iOS backup and restore behavior.
When Discovery Fox runs an AI-assisted audit, public website context and the associated prompt are transmitted to Google Gemini through Firebase AI Logic.
Google currently states that Gemini API:
are retained for 55 days for abuse monitoring and enforcement of Google’s prohibited-use policies.
Discovery Fox cannot directly delete information retained by Google for this abuse-monitoring period. Google’s retention and deletion practices are governed by its applicable Gemini API policies and terms.
Firebase App Check processes security attestation information and App Check tokens necessary to verify legitimate app requests.
Firebase states that App Check does not retain attestation material itself. When attestation material is sent to an attestation provider such as Apple, that provider’s terms and policies apply.
App Check token retention is governed by Firebase’s applicable App Check policies.
Websites requested by Discovery Fox may retain server or access logs according to their own privacy and retention policies.
Discovery Fox does not control those third-party website logs and cannot directly delete them.
You control which website is scanned.
If you do not tap Scan Website, Discovery Fox does not perform the website audit or send the sampled website context to Gemini.
You can stop future AI processing by not initiating a new scan or rescan.
A rescan performs a new public-site retrieval and AI-assisted audit.
You can delete individual website records from Your Sites inside the app.
You can also delete the app to remove locally stored Discovery Fox data.
Discovery Fox copies or shares an audit only when you deliberately choose the corresponding action.
You control which destination receives content from the iOS share sheet.
For information retained by Google, Firebase, Apple, or websites you audit as part of their own processing, retention and deletion requests are governed by those providers’ respective policies.
Discovery Fox is designed to analyze publicly accessible business websites.
Do not use Discovery Fox to intentionally process private, restricted, confidential, authenticated, or illegally obtained website content.
Public webpages may still contain personal or sensitive information. Discovery Fox processes only the public website material needed for the requested audit and does not intentionally create personal profiles from that information.
Discovery Fox is designed to minimize data collection and does not operate a user-account database.
Website requests use an ephemeral URL session, and audit history is stored locally on the device.
Firebase App Check is used to help protect Firebase and Gemini access from unauthorized clients.
No method of network transmission or electronic storage can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
Discovery Fox is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
