Discovery Fox Privacy Policy
Last updated: 2026-04-01
Discovery Fox (“Discovery Fox”, “we”, “us”) provides a fast, directional “discovery readiness” audit for a website domain you enter. This policy explains what data the app processes, how it’s used, and the choices you have.
Summary (plain English)
- You enter a domain (for example,
figma.com). Discovery Fox fetches a small sample of public webpages from that domain to build an audit.
- AI processing: The sampled page text is sent to Google Gemini (via Firebase AI Logic) to generate the audit results.
- On-device storage: Discovery Fox stores a small “recent audits” list locally on your device (domain + score + date).
- No accounts. No ads. No tracking.
What data Discovery Fox processes
1) Domain you enter
Examples: notion.so, figma.com
Purpose: To fetch public webpages and generate an audit.
2) Public webpage content fetched from that domain
Discovery Fox downloads a limited amount of page content from:
- the homepage, and
- up to a couple of additional “high-signal” pages (for example: pricing/about/product pages).
Purpose: To analyze clarity, discoverability, citation readiness, and content coverage.
Note: Your device makes network requests to the target website(s). Like any website request, the website operator may receive standard network information (such as your IP address and user agent) as part of serving the page. Discovery Fox does not add ad-tracking identifiers to these requests.
3) AI prompt content (sent to Gemini)
Discovery Fox sends a compact prompt that includes:
- the domain host, and
- sampled page text (title/meta/headings/body excerpts)
to Google Gemini using Firebase AI Logic.
Purpose: To generate the audit JSON (scores, top fixes, and reasons the score is not higher).
4) “Recent audits” stored on device
Discovery Fox stores a small recent list locally (via on-device storage):
- domain (host)
- audit score
- timestamp
Purpose: To show recent history and make repeated audits easier.
5) Clipboard / sharing (only when you tap)
If you tap Copy or Share, Discovery Fox places the audit summary on your clipboard or opens the iOS share sheet.
What we do not collect
- No user accounts (no email/phone/login).
- No precise location, contacts, photos, microphone, or speech recognition.
- No advertising SDKs and no cross-app tracking.
Third-party processing (and “same/equal protection”)
Discovery Fox uses third parties only to provide app functionality:
- Google Gemini (via Firebase AI Logic): Generates the audit output.
- Apple iOS services: Standard system services for networking, clipboard, and share sheet.
Same/equal protection statement: Any third party that processes user data for Discovery Fox (such as Google Gemini for AI generation) is expected to provide the same or equal protection of user data as stated in this policy and as required by Apple’s App Review Guidelines.
Data retention & deletion
On your device
- “Recent audits” are stored locally on your device.
- You can delete the app to remove locally stored data.
Third parties (Google / websites you audit)
- Gemini retention: When you run an audit, the text sent to Gemini and Gemini’s output may be retained by Google for up to 55 days for abuse monitoring, per Gemini API policies.
- Websites you audit: The websites you request may keep their own server logs according to their policies.
Discovery Fox cannot directly delete data stored by Google or by the websites you audit as part of their processing/logging. Please refer to their policies for retention and deletion options.
Your choices (revoke consent / request deletion)
Revoke consent
- Stop AI processing: You can stop AI processing by not running audits. If you do not tap Run Audit, no content is sent to Gemini.
- Control what you audit: Only enter domains you want to analyze. Avoid submitting sensitive or confidential information in domains/URLs.
Request deletion
- On-device deletion: Delete the app to remove locally stored data.
- Third-party deletion requests: For any data retained by Google or by third-party websites as part of AI processing or web requests, deletion requests are governed by their respective policies.
Security
We aim to minimize data collection. Discovery Fox does not operate a user database and does not require accounts. When you run an audit, the app transmits sampled webpage text to the configured AI provider for generation.
Children’s privacy
Discovery Fox is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
