NextThree Privacy Policy
Last updated: 2026-01-14
NextThree (“NextThree”, “we”, “us”) is a lightweight productivity app that turns a task into three small next steps. This policy explains what data NextThree processes, how it’s used, and the choices you have.
Summary (plain English)
- On-device by default: NextThree stores app state locally on your device (for example, your remaining free-trial count).
- AI processing (optional by availability): When AI features are available, the task text you enter (and the prior steps shown in the same session) are sent to an AI service to generate your next three steps. If AI is unavailable, NextThree generates a simple on-device fallback.
- No ads, no tracking, no user accounts.
Data we process
1) User content (task text)
What it is: The task text you type (e.g., “Clean room”) and the step history from the current session (used to continue the plan).
How it’s used: To generate the “next three steps” for your task.
Where it’s processed:
- On-device: The task text and steps are held in memory during your current session.
- Third-party AI (when enabled/available): NextThree sends the task text (and session step history) to Google Gemini via Firebase AI Logic to generate steps.
2) Purchases (StoreKit)
If you unlock “Unlimited” via in-app purchase, Apple processes purchase-related information to complete the transaction. NextThree does not run its own payment processing.
3) Local app state (trial counter)
NextThree stores your remaining free-trial “runs” locally on your device using on-device storage (UserDefaults).
What we do not collect
- We do not create user accounts.
- We do not collect your name, email, contacts, location, photos, or browsing history.
- We do not run ads or use tracking SDKs.
Third-party processing (and “same/equal protection”)
NextThree uses these third parties solely to provide core functionality:
- Google Gemini (via Firebase AI Logic): Generates next-step suggestions from the task text you provide.
- Apple (StoreKit): Processes in-app purchases.
Same/equal protection statement: Any third party that processes user data for NextThree (such as Apple for purchases, or Google Gemini for AI generation) is expected to provide the same or equal protection of user data as stated in this policy and as required by Apple’s App Review Guidelines.
Data retention & deletion
On your device
- You can remove local data by deleting the app.
- Your free-trial counter is stored on-device; deleting the app clears it (subject to iOS behavior such as device backups/restores).
Third parties (Apple / Google)
- Google Gemini retention: When you use AI features, the text you submit and the model output may be retained by Google for up to 55 days for abuse monitoring, per Gemini API policies.
- Apple (StoreKit): Purchase records are handled by Apple according to Apple’s policies.
NextThree cannot directly delete data stored by Apple or Google as part of their processing. Please refer to their policies for retention and deletion options.
Your choices (revoke consent / request deletion)
Revoke consent
- Stop voice/audio access: NextThree does not request microphone or speech recognition permissions.
- Stop AI processing: You can stop AI processing by not using AI-powered generation. If AI is unavailable (for example, no network or service outage), NextThree will provide an on-device fallback instead.
Request deletion
- On-device deletion: Deleting the app removes locally stored data on your device.
- Third-party deletion requests: For any data retained by Apple or Google as part of purchases or AI processing, deletion requests are governed by their respective policies.
Security
We aim to minimize data. NextThree does not operate its own user database and does not store your tasks on our servers. When AI features are used, your task text is transmitted to the configured AI provider for generation.
Children’s privacy
NextThree is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
